Chapter Scholarships - AΘX

The Alpha Theta Chi Educational Trust awards scholarships to deserving members and alumni of the Alpha Theta Chi Chapter of Chi Phi Fraternity at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

Scholarships must be used toward educational expenses for Brothers' undergraduate or graduate programs. The Scholarship program is competitive, and demonstrated involvement in the Fraternity as an undergraduate member or alumnus is an important element for consideration for a scholarship.

The Alpha Theta Chi Trust partners with the National Chi Phi Educational Trust (CPET) to facilitate the application process for its scholarships.

Any Alpha Theta Chi who wishes to be considered for an Alpha Theta Chi Trust Scholarship MUST apply through the application process of the CPET.

Applications are to be submitted online at:

DEADLINE: All materials must be submitted (online) by 11:59 pm (Eastern) March 5, 2017.

Scholarship applications will be reviewed by August 1 each year by Trustees of the Alpha Theta Chi Educational Trust with assistance from selected Chapter advisors.

Applicants must be matriculated in an accredited college or university or demonstrate that he will be entering an accredited program in the next school term.

 

 

Housing Scholarships - Blue and Scarlet

Blue and Scarlet Scholarship. Fraternity residents will be eligible each semester for a Blue and Scarlet Scholarship awarded by the Alpha Theta Chi Educational Trust. The Blue and Scarlet Scholarship for 2016-17 will be $1,000 per semester and will be awarded at the conclusion of each semester. Requirements for the scholarship are: full-time academic standing (completed at least 12 semester hours previous semester), residency in the Chapter House for the full previous semester, demonstrated involvement in Fraternity programs including academic, recruiting, social and philanthropic. In addition academic performance must be at a satisfactory level as determined by the Trustees of the Alpha Theta Chi Educational Trust.

National Scholarships - XΦ

The Alpha Theta Chi Trust partners with the National Chi Phi Educational Trust (CPET) to facilitate the application process for its scholarships.

Applications are to be submitted online at:

Applications for all scholarships are evaluated by a volunteer panel made up of Chi Phi Alumni. Applications are scored on four categories:

  1. Grade Point Average (35% of total score)
  2. Chapter Leadership and Involvement (35% of total score)
  3. Community Service (20% of total score)
  4. Educational/Professional Aspirations (10% of total score)

Available National Scholarships

Undergraduate Scholarships

Each year Chi Phi awards a varying number of scholarships to Brothers pursuing their undergraduate degree. Applicants must be matriculated at an accredited college or university or demonstrate that he will be entering an accredited program in the next school term.

Graduate Scholarships

Each year Chi Phi awards a varying number of scholarships to Brothers pursuing their graduate degree. Applicants must be matriculated at an accredited college or university or demonstrate that he will be entering an accredited program in the next school term.

Chapter Excellence Fund Scholarships

Each year Chi Phi Chapters award approximately $70,000 in local scholarships and grants through their Chapter Excellence Funds. The requirements and amounts of these scholarships vary across Chapters. Contact your Chapter Alpha or Chapter Advisor for more information about awards at your Chapter.

Ramsaur Leadership Awards

The Ramsaur Leadership Awards were endowed by Gray and Cordelia Ramsaur to recognize the  outstanding leadership of Chi Phi Brothers. While originally only open to Brothers enrolled at an institution within the state of Florida, beginning in the 2015 – 2016 academic year, Ramsaur Awards will be available to all Chi Phi Brothers with preference being given to Brothers from Florida Chapters.

In addition to academic scholarships, the Chi Phi Educational Trust awards several annual scholarships to develop Chi Phi Members. Two of those scholarships are for FuturesQuest and the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute (UIFI). Visit the program pages to learn about the application process and deadlines for these awards.

Applying for an Academic Scholarship

All academic scholarships are applied for using an online application.  After the application is submitted, the Scholarship Review Committee will match qualified applicants to all scholarships for which they are eligible. Most scholarships are between$1,000 – $2,500 and all are for one year.

To complete the application you might find it helpful to have the following information available:

  1. Undergraduate and graduate (if applicable) Grade Point Average
  2. Name and email address of your Chapter Alpha, ChapterAdvisor, Chapter Alumni Association President, Faculty Advisor, a professor and your job supervisor for your references
  3. A list of your Chi Phi offices held, your campus and community activities, regional and national Chi Phi events you have attended and awards and honors you have received.
  4. Undergraduate and graduate (if applicable) transcripts (unofficial copies are accepted).

Please note that Chi Phi Brothers can be awarded a lifetime maximum of $5,000 in scholarships by the Educational Trust.  This does not include any scholarships awarded directly from a Chapter Excellence Fund.
